From The Desk Of The President: GMCA Plan Of Action and Information About The Coronavirus!

Dear GMCA Students, Instructors, Contractors, Schools and Supporters,
I would like to thank you for your patience in this trying time. I hope that you are all staying safe and healthy by following the necessary precautions to decrease the spread of the Coronavirus.
Last week, in response to the Coronavirus, I revealed that Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA) would be suspending all classes until April 6th, 2020; as directed by the Governor of Michigan. Due to the Department of Labor guidelines, our students are required to attend a specific number of hours per year to continue being apprentices registered with the state of Michigan. GMCA is taking this matter seriously and plans on classes being back in session on April 6th, 2020 and extending the semester until the week of June 15th, 2020; in order to remain in compliance. We will keep you updated if there are any changes to our current plan, as safety is our number one concern.
With the virus finding way into our surrounding area, we ask that you refer to the following links from the Center for Disease Control and Occupational Safety and Health Administration for additional safety measures.

Amidst this crisis, those of us at GMCA stand strong with the contractor community to do what is best to keep everyone safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Davis
