My skilled trades training benefited me because I can do more things on my own house and for others. I am proud of learning how the codebook works and building PLCs projects. My biggest challenge at work is learning while making mistakes. The career advice I wish I had when I began is to get enough rest and learn as much as possible.

Skilled trades training benefited me because I started my career young. My greatest accomplishment is building a good reputation. My biggest challenge at work is dealing with difficult people. I am proud of working on the Tridge lights project. The career advice I wish I had when I began: Prepare for the worst (on the job).

Skilled trades training has benefited me because I know the names of all the parts and pieces I will need for a job. My proud accomplishment is helping others that don’t know about the jobs. The project I am most proud of working on is The Soo Locks. The career advice I wish I had when I began: Know all the ins and outs of the job you’re on.

Skilled Trades training has benefited me by opening up opportunities at different companies that wouldn’t even take a second look if I hadn’t had a formal, post-secondary education. It gives me a leg up on anyone who just has a high school diploma.
